The idea of Practice Pitch was conceived form years of teaching fast pitch softball. I knew if I could get a hands-on tool for my girls that they could learn and understand the mechanics faster and better. It was when the girls that I teach started getting pitches that they had struggled with, and new girls where learning faster that I saw the value of this tool. The appealing features of "Practice Pitch" are its convenience, ease of use, light weight, portability, and ability to improve a pitcher's technique and mechanics. This new training aid would allow softball pitchers to practice the various techniques needed to properly throw breaking pitches including rise, curve, drop, and screw balls. Using the device would also allow a pitcher to practice releasing the ball at the proper point in the throwing sequence, as well as practice proper follow-through movements for various pitches. When used as part of a consistent practice routine, the "Practice Pitch" would enable a pitcher to develop proper pitching mechanics through muscle memory, which would ultimately improve performance in game situations. In this regard, the unit is ideal for use among beginner pitchers who were just learning various techniques, as well as among more experienced pitchers who were looking to maintain and improve their skills. In addition, the "Practice Pitch” allows a pitcher to practice the techniques and mechanics needed to throw a variety of pitches without actually throwing a softball.
